Sanctuaries OF BHUBANESHWAR – A PHOTO FEATURE

While many partner Odisha or Orissa with the Jagannath Temple in Puri and the Sun Temple at Konark, very few voyagers know about the numerous old sanctuaries in Bhubaneshwar. The capital of Odisha is loaded up with antiquated landmarks including rock-cut cavern sanctuaries and religious communities. There are altars committed to Hinduism, Buddhism, wedding car hire jaipur Jainism and surprisingly old Tantrik sanctuaries are viewed as here. The city takes its name from Tribhuneshwar, a type of Shiva and the greater part of the old sanctuaries of Bhubaneshwar are devoted to him.

The 1000 year old Lingaraja sanctuary devoted to Harihara is at the focal point of the town. The biggest sanctuary in the city, the design is average of the Kalinga style with a curvelinear tower . The gathering corridor or the survey patio is alluded to as Jagmohana with a multi layered pyramidal rooftop.

The transcending Vimana over the primary holy place remains at a stature of 180 feet. There are three primary corridors or mandapas here. The first is the gathering corridor or the Jagmohana , the Natamandira or the moving lobby and Bhogamandira or the lobby of contributions. Encompassing me are figures of lions that stand apart wherever on the façade of the sanctuary. Tragically photography isn't permitted here.
